I know most people wouldn't think of Disney when they think of a romantic getaway, but I can't tell you how romantic this trip has been. I enjoyed it more than London. Which if you know me, that should come as no surprise! Also, it made it a little more romantic because everyone there spoke French or a different language, so Jamie and I truly felt secluded and alone. It was an odd feeling, but so great!
Day 5 of our European vacation was another fantastic day at the Disney parks!
It was a chilly day, but sunny and beautiful!
This park was just like any other Disney park--quaint and happy and cheerful.
And there's just nothing better than a Disney park decorated for Christmas!
There were lots of rides and fun things to do here that I had never seen at other parks including the Indiana Jones roller coaster:
That ride was a hoot! If I remember correctly, it went upside-down and it was fast and fun! I love me a good roller coaster!
There was a giant pirate ship next to the Pirates of the Caribbean ride which I think you can walk on and explore, but it wasn't open.
We, of course, had to appease Jamie on our Disney trip and do a little shooting:
I think he hit everything he aimed at, which I missed everything I aimed at. Lame.
I couldn't get enough of this gorgeous castle!
This was a little walk-through under the castle:
I think it was called the dragon's lair:
Jamie and I so badly wanted to ride Peter Pan's Flight, but it was broken almost the whole time!
Sad day.
So we walked through Alice's Curious Labyrinth:
It was dizzy and crazy and confusing, but a lot of fun:
And when you got to the top of the maze, you had a stellar view:
Before too long, out tummies got the best of us and we went to some saloon for lunch:
They had a fun band playing western-style Christmas music and Jamie messed with the settings on my camera:
Hence the really attractive fish eye setting.
The afternoon was filled with the Toy Story ride:
The Christmas parade:
The gorgeous Christmas tree:
A fantastic Santa Clause:
Walking around the park:
And of course, It's a Small World ride:
We also made a stop to mine and Jamie's favorite ride--The Haunted Mansion:
It was all in French, like I've mentioned, so it was really fun!
Another stop on Space Mountain! Please note my goofball hubby who pulled his hat over his face:
Another parade:
And then finally dinner. The first time we rode The Pirates of the Caribbean, we noticed that there was a restaurant right next to the ride. Basically in the ride! We watched people ride by on their pirate ships. So fun! So we made reservations and ate there one night. It was like Indian, middle eastern cuisine. Delicious! And we had so much fun sitting right by the water, watching the ride go by.
Jamie and I both got the same thing for dinner. It included shrimp, sausage, coconut shrimp, hush puppies, and some other stuff. We didn't know exactly what we were eating, but it was tasty tasty!
And for dessert, I got a giant chocolate macaroon with some mango side:
Believe it or not, my picture-hating hubby asked me to take a picture of him with this cannon:
I gladly obliged.
Gosh, I love this man:
That evening, we planned to get to the castle in plenty of time to watch the evening firework show.
I promised Jamie that I would put my camera away and just enjoy the show, and I'm so glad I did. It was all "Frozen" themed and it was beautiful and romantic and fun and just delightful! It was in several different languages, which made it really unique and perfect. We really loved watching it together.
