Day 6 at Hollywood Studios

Another fabulous day at Disneyland Paris was ahead of us! We totally lucked out with beautiful weather during our whole Europe trip. We were well aware that yucky weather was a high possibility since we've both experienced wet Europe trips in the past, so we were greatly appreciative for such gorgeous, albeit freezing, weather on our trip!

Today, we planned on spending most of the day at Hollywood Studios! This was one of my favorites days. I don't really know why we liked it so much, but it was both of our favorite day of our Disney trip. Everything about it was truly perfect!

By the way, if you every decide to go to Disneyland Paris, you MUST stay at the Disneyland Hotel. It was beyond fabulous!

I mean look at this beautiful hotel:

Gorgeous! And it was walking distance to both Disney parks, which was a huge perk for me and Jamie.

Walt Disney Studios:

We headed straight to Rockin' Roller Coaster first thing because there was pretty much  no line. Unfortunately, the ride shut down as we were next in line, but we did make it back there later in the day, and it was just as fun as I remembered!

This was a really fun park to walk around, look at everything, take pictures at the set up photo-ops and see a few shows. Granted the shows were half in French, half English, but we enjoyed everything about it.

We rode the Tower of Terror before lunch, because we knew it'd be a big ride that goes up and down...so we most definitely didn't want to be seeing our lunch again. I can't express to you how much I love this ride! I get soooo scared when we first get on the ride, especially when you can't understand a word they're saying, but it's one of my favorites! Jamie and I both screamed and then laughed, screamed and laughed until our throats hurt! I'm not kidding, I laughed so hard I cried. There's just something about being scared to death that is terrifyingly hilarious! Plus, we were on the front row which makes it that much more horrifying! But so fun!!

For lunch, we ate at the Ratatouille restaurant which was a giant, international buffet. Goodness, it was delicious!

Buffets were a good route for us non-French speaking gringos. We could just buy our buffet and eat what we saw instead of ordering. Yum yum yum.

After lunch, we headed to the Disney's Art of Animation show, which was one of our favorite parts of our Disney trip. It was part movie, part demonstration of how Disney movies are made. The different way characters are designed before they choose the final drawing and so on. So entertaining, and really funny.

After the show, we got to see some original posters and drawings of Disney movies. We loved it!

We loved the development of the 7 dwarves:

There was even a little area where we could draw our own cartoon, which Jamie and I did together:

We drew an inch worm.

After that, we headed back out to walk around and ride a few more rides.

How cute is he?

Right outside of the Hollywood Studios is the Disney Village, complete with shopping and restaurants, so we did a little shopping and walking around.

I bought a few things for Lucy, a Disney mug for me, a magnet for our refrigerator and a key chain. I wanted to buy every stuffed animal since that is one of my greatest loves, but I refrained.

There was a gorgeous Christmas photo-op set up right in the middle of the Disney village, and a cute English couple was taking their picture in front of it. So I offered to take their picture if they'd take ours. I was thrilled!

Back to Hollywood Studios:

Yet another picture that Jamie wanted me to take of him:

Look at the picture and tell me if you can figure it out.

Later in the day, we headed back to our hotel for a bit to FaceTime with Lucy and relax before we headed out for some more fun and  dinner.

We decided to do dinner in the Magic Kingdom, because we wanted to see the evening lighting of the Christmas tree.

At this point, we were STARVING and everything was closed that was supposed to be open. This guy was not thrilled as the look on his face shows evident.

That was one of the bizarre things about Disneyland Paris. Everything online and on their maps that they passed out said that certain things would be open, and they wouldn't be. We walked around for almost an hour looking for somewhere to eat. Quite bizarre.

We eventually just stopped at a Hakuna Matata restaurant and ate some good ol' chicken fingers. Dinner of champions.

After our healthy dinner, we walked around and rode a few rides before they lit the Christmas tree.

Pre-lit tree:

And after:

This was such a great show! They had this whole dialogue gong between kids saying what their biggest Christmas wishes were. They spoke in countless languages and then started singing Silent Night in many languages. Then, it started "snowing" and I start weeping. It was beautiful and emotional and so sweet. It was the sweet side of Disney, and I loved it! Jamie said that was his favorite part of the trip--seeing me emo cry--because he knew how happy I was to be there. It was perfect.

Unfortunately, Jamie and I slept poorly our whole trip. Neither of us felt too great, and we missed Lucy, and we just never got adjusted to the time change, so we only slept a few hours a night. Which was bad for us this night, because we ordered a midnight cheese pizza. And just to let you know, when you order a 5 cheese pizza from the Disneyland hotel, they add about 5 pounds of cheese!!!

That wad that you see in the picture below is a giant wad of cheese:

We were starving which is why we ate it, but it was less than delicious. It was piled with parmesan, goat, bleu, mozzarella, and one other cheese. Oh my yuck. I still haven't had pizza since then, and it's been almost 2 months. I just can't.

Day 6, done. Best vacation ever!!!
