Baby Shower #4.
Are you getting sick of these baby showers yet? I know I'm not. And guess what? Since these showers, I've had a 5th! And it was a great surprise thrown by my Young Life girls! I'll share that with you later, but for now, let's go back to December 2nd.
This shower was thrown by my mom's 3 best friends from growing up: Lisa, Lynette, and Cindi. It was at the Tulsa Girls Art School. You can read more about TGAS here, and I highly recommend that you do. Cindi used to be a principal at a Tulsa Public School, and one of her old art teachers now runs TGAS, so that is how we had such great connections to have our shower it. It was a beautiful little school.
Right when I walked in the building, this is what I saw:
The older girls who go to this school painted this gorgeous canvas for Sweet Pea's room. Each girl made a different heart with their own personality showing in their painting. And then everyone who attended the shower added a heart as well. I cried when I saw this painting and just fell in love with it. It's not exactly the typical painting you see in a baby's room, but our baby won't be any normal baby. She is already so well loved by friends, loved ones and even strangers. Thank you to the girls at TGAS for creating such a gorgeous painting!!
A few pictures from the shower...
Lisa was helping at the refreshment table:
My favorite thing we had there was rainbow sherbet punch...so stinkin' good.
This is Matt:
He was there to tell us a little bit about the school and it was a personal honor for me to meet him. Such a selfless and talented man.
More gift opening:
Thank you, seester, for taking notes of who got me what.
Who knows what I'm talking about here?:
Me and my Aunt Kathy:
Kathy got Baby Scho the CUTEST little OSU outfit! I just died when I saw it! Kathy is a big Cowboy fan, so I would expect nothing less from her :)
Me and sweet Katie, Cindi's daughter:
Katie has been so great and such an encouragement throughout this whole pregnancy. She's the girl you can go to to ask those questions that you'd never ask anyone else! This lady will tell it to you straight, and I love her for it :)
Gaile and Cindi:
Two of my favorite people in the world:
Courtney, me, my mama and Susan:
Courtney and Susan work at my parents' studio, and they are incredible ladies. Such joys in our lives, and we are blessed to know them.
Me, my mama and my sister:
The hostesses--Lisa, Lynette, me, my mama and Cindi:
Thank you three so so SO much for throwing me such an unbelievably fabulous shower. I love you to pieces and am so thankful you love my baby enough to shower her with love and gifts. I can't wait for you to meet her!
After the baby shower, we headed home to relax a little bit before heading to the airport to drop Angela off.
That evening, my mom and I sorted through EVERYTHING to see what needed to be returned (I got a few duplicates of several things) before I headed back to Louisiana the next morning. We sorted it out by clothes, bath stuff, feeding stuff, nursery stuff, blankets, burp cloths, bibs, hair accessories, socks and shoes and more...it was fun and rather overwhelming. I keep asking myself, "How does one tiny little baby require so much stuff?" They just do.
Bubsy was exhausted at all of this baby stuff, so he took a little snooze in one of the gift bags:
I have to take pictures of him being sweet, because it doesn't happen too often.
Here is all of the baby goodness we packed into Kim's car to bring it to Lafayette:
Wowzers.
Love you guys! Have a happy weekend!
