A few weeks ago, on a Sunday afternoon, I thought I was heading to an end of the year Young Life Bible study brunch at Leah and Maddie's house. I was running a few minutes late, because I got stuck in some nasty rain, and as I walked into the house, I heard, "SURPRISE!!!" I froze in my steps and looked around--seeing baby balloons and gifts and a room full of sweet girls. A surprise baby shower! I immediately welled up with tears, feeling overwhelmed with love and friendship. I love these girls.
All this time, my sweet Bible study kept this big secret from me. Way to go, my dears.
We had a yummy spread of chips and dips, cookies, more punch with sherbet (my favorite), Oreo balls, Mexican tortilla rollups and more. It was delicious and festive and pink :)
Here are a few pictures from the party:
Opening gifts:
I still melt at all of the tiny stuff. This was a sweet elephant lovey:
This is my pre-"baby things slay me" face:
Ragin' Cajun bloomers:
We do live in Cajun country, you know? And baby girl's daddy is a Ragin' Cajun now since he's getting his Master's at UL. Gotta support!
Sweet elephant nighty:
Mini converse tennis shoes:
I die.
Baby swimsuit. So stinking cute:
She'll be wearing that thing a lot since the weather stays warm year round.
Here is the group:
These were the sweet girls that came to the shower: Morgan, Taylor, Jolie, Carmen, Maddie, Brittany, Leah, Julia (taking the picture) and Rue (the dog).
Thank you all so so very much for throwing such a sweet baby shower. Baby Scho is already so unbelievably loved and I can't wait for you all to meet her! I know you'll be such a sweet influence on her young life, and I am so blessed to know each and every one of you. She will be blessed to know you too. Thanks again, and I love you dearly. Each and every one of you.
