I realize it's been quite some time since I've blogged, and for that, I am apologetic. The reason I started a blog was to keep my friends and family in touch with me and what's going on in my life after we moved to Memphis. My sweet friend, Hayley, wrote me the nicest Facebook message yesterday telling me that she misses me and reminded me how much I am lacking in the blog posting area of my life. She's the BEST at letting me know she misses me :) Makes a girl feel loved.
But anyways, to be honest, I haven't been blogging because there just flat out isn't much to talk about. I'll get more to that in a later post, because I have a "better blogger" idea for myself. I am going to write down what I will blog about for the week and if something comes up that I'd rather talk about, then I'll push my original idea back for a later date. Better blogger. That's me!
Let's get started on what's been going on in the month of February. In no particular order. Here we go.
1. Leia is still the furriest love of my life.
2. My parents got a new cat. His name is Bubsy.
3. Jamie drug me to see Star Wars in 3D. I owed him one, because he saw Beauty and the Beast in 3D with me. I fell asleep off and on throughout the whole beginning, because I thought it was one of the dumbest movies I had ever seen in my life, and I just didn't understand what was going on. I still love my cute hubby, but Star Wars? C'mon! That's horrible!
We got to the movie like an hour early to "beat the crowd"...the crowd that didn't exist...so Jamie played a few games.
I got some really cute cards this year that I had to share.
This one was from Kim to Jamie.

I guess he got those shoes when he was little. Those ones that you have to pump the bubble thing to jump higher...what a joke! Our kids will have those if they're even still around :) They're classic!
This one was from Camie, my sister-in-law.
Hilarious. Except Jamie would be the one tooting on my card. He's nasty. But handsome.
Valentine's dinner was quite the surprise!! Jamie always has something up his sleeve, but I really had no idea what he had planned this year. I worked until 6:00 and when I came home, I opened the door to our apartment and I smelled food. And I saw the table was set. And I heard the stove going. Jamie was actually cooking me dinner!!! He rushed me to the bedroom, away from the kitchen and told me to change into comfies. Then he sat me at the kitchen table and served me dinner that he prepared all by himself!!! He made green beans, cajun chicken pasta, bought a whole wheat loaf of French bread (because he knows I like whole wheat), and we had chocolate lava cakes with ice cream for dessert. Best. Valentine's. Ever. He stole my heart. Then he got me a yoga mat and I got him Angels in the Outfield. It was the perfect evening.
6. Camie and her boyfriend Darrin got engaged a few weeks ago!!!
Woo hoo! They're wedding day is July 28th! So excited! Congrats to Darrin and Camie!
7. Remember a few weeks ago when Jamie and I built a Lego log cabin? Well, Kim sent us another Lego adventure to build this week. Can you guess what we're building based on the colors?
Have an idea now?
The White House!!!
I actually forgot to take an "after" pic of our creation, but I'll take one later. I love doing the legos because it's just methodical and step-by-step. That's how my mind works and I like it.
8. Mardi Gras was this week. We went to a parade on Monday night and it was intense. I got bad pictures, but here are the couple shots I got.
I don't know if those gals were queens or maids or maidens or matrons or whatever the heck you call them.
Another float.
I honestly don't really get Mardi Gras all that much except it's a big party and an excuse to get trashed and confess the next day and "give up" your sins or whatever. BTW...Lent is a joke. It should not be used as a diet. People have missed the point of what Lent is supposed to be. Mini rant...don't mind me.
At the parade, I caught quite a few necklaces and am surprised I don't have bead wounds from getting smacked in the face with them! Those people on the float chunk them as hard as they can!! But I did get some fun stuff and we celebrated like good Louisiana folk :)
At the parades on Tuesday, there was a pretty big fight that broke out. Read about it here. It's a truly embarrassing story about adults behaving badly.
9. Jamie and I celebrated Fat Tuesday with a cream cheese King Cake.
I'm not sure what the story is behind King Cakes, but for whatever reason, they put a baby in the cake and whoever finds it has good luck for a year.
Looks like I'm the lucky one for a year!!!
That baby is truly creepy. But it better bring me some good Cajun luck!
10. I joined a small group a few weeks ago. The girls I was placed with are a little older than me and are in a different part of life than I'm in, but they are precious and I'm making the most out of it.
11. I'm starting The Hunger Games today. Pretty excited about that, because I want to read it before I see it in theaters.
12. I'm going to Atlantis with my in-laws in a few weeks. STOKED out of my mind!
13. My parents, sister and her hubster are visiting in a couple weeks! STOKED out of my mind!
14. I still love Jamie. He's the hottest, cutest, most fun and loving and precious man I know. So glad he's mine.
15. I'm ready for Spring and warmer temps.
16. I'm getting my hair trimmed. today.
17. My friend Emily Black is having a baby neck week! EEEE!!!!
18. Work is slow. But I still like it :)
19. I'm making smoothies for breakfast.
20. Then I'll go on a walk.
I think that's all for now. I'm pretty sure I got you ALL caught up on what's going on in my life in the month of February. And I am going to promise to try to be a better blogger and keep you all a little more involved in my life! I love you guys and appreciate you still keeping up with me and reading what's going on :) I hope you have an incredible Saturday and go do something fun! Love you!
