Lucy's First Halloween!!!

This has been a really fun October for me! First of all, October is truly a fantastic month, because it's like the real start to Fall. I consider September 1st the unofficial start to the Fall season, but October is really Fall! And if you have known me for longer an 12 seconds, you know full well my obsession with Fall.

Love.

So a few weeks ago, Jamie, Lucy and I headed to the pumpkin patch to pick out a couple pun'kins. My beloved is not the biggest fan of taking pictures, but I asked him a couple days in advance if we could take a quick and nice family picture. He complied with this sweet smile...

Even Lucy was mean-muggin'!

I just like Lucy's Popeye face :)

I hope she gets a little more of her mommy's picture-taking genes and enjoys hamming it up in front of the camera!

Unfortunately, it rained cats and dogs the night before we went to the pumpkin patch, so it was sopping wet outside! Puddles and mud everywhere! So we picked our pumpkin and got outa there!!

Not without a couple pictures first...

By the way, how precious is that tutu cat outfit? Auntie Angela got that for her, and I kind of want her to wear it year-round. So cute! Thank you, sister!!

Our winning pumpkin:

Later in the day, Lucy put on a different Halloween shirt, and we did a family trip (Leia included) to PetCo to get my fur child some food.

Yet again, James loves picture-taking.

I'll need to remember that PetCo is like a mini, free zoo, because of all the animals to look at--cats, fish, frogs, mice, gerbils. ferrets, lizards and more! Lucy was pretty enthralled and it was fun to watch her look at all the creatures.

But I feel like I need to let my child know ahead of time that we will not own a rat/mouse/gerbil or any other rodent. So sorry, baby. I will take you to the pet store any day of the week to look at them, and you can even name them! But they will not enter our home. Sorry, love.

Last week, after our Sunday naps, the 4 of us headed to the balcony to carve our family pumpkin.

Jamie was hacking the top off while Lucy and I sat back and watched:

Leia was there too, relaxing and enjoying the sunshine.

The pumpkin outline:

We made the teeth look like Lucy's :) She has two bottom teeth and two top teeth that are like fangs. They're too stinkin' precious!

I was given the honors of pulling out the pumpkin goo:

I asked Jamie to take some pictures, and this was what I got when I checked the camera later in the day:

Nice pics, huh? Love my cute hubs.

Then the carving began.

We watched and waited.

Leia gave kisses.

The final product!

How cute is that??!!

Isn't it adorbs?

Halloween week, I tried to put Lucy is something green or orange simply to be fun and festive.

So here she is in her orange "So Cute I'm Scary" pajams:

Thursday was Halloween and a fun one it was!!! Jamie and I had planned on having dinner together with Lucy and then getting her all dressed up and walking around the neighborhood, looking at all of the other trick-or-treaters. However, it was a blasted tsunami all afternoon and evening long, so we had our own Halloween fest in our humble little living room! Those poor big kid trick-or-treaters :( I was so sad that they were unable to go outside, and collect their candy. I'm glad Lucy isn't old enough to have gone out, because she would have been so sad.

Anyways!

Lucy was a lamb for halloween...first. She might have had 2 costumes. First off, baby lamb:

Did you ever see a cuter lamb!?!?

I mean. Really.

Next up: little tiger tot:

Furry sister Leia was an alligator:

We had a little jungle party at the Schoenthaler home!

Leia was less than thrilled about her costume...

But she sure was cute!

I usually don't play TV when Lucy is up and awake, because I don't want her to become a TV hound, but it was a holiday, so we watch "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" while I made dinner.

Jamie and I have watched it every year since we've been married. I love that tradition, so we included Lucy in on it this year.

We enjoyed dinner together, and then Lucy love bug went to bed, only to wake up on the first day of a new month. Everything is new for Lucy and I love this stage. First little everythings. So great.

After she went down, I met up with my Young Life college bible study girls for our second annual Hocus Pocus movie night!

I brought funfetti cupcakes and the other girls brought brownies, pizza rolls, and more. It was a fun evening with precious girls!

This is Sophie:

She was painting shoes for her business. She is an entrepreneur. An artist. And a stud. I'm glad I know her, because she's amazing and will be famous one day! Look out for her, ladies and gentlemen! She'll be uber famous one day!

Taylor and Brittany:

Taylor is a beautiful lady with an equally beautiful twin, Morgan who was playing in Disney World that night. Lame. We love you, Taylor and love your joy and gentleness. Brittany is the epitome of happy! I love her spunk and fun-loving nature!

Leah and your's truly:

Leah is probably the most hard working, gracious ladies I've ever met in my life. I'm so lucky to know her, because she is a prayer warrior and just an all around good person. Love you lady.

Claire and Maddie:

Claire is a Young Life leader for I'm not are what age...but she is so precious! And Maddie is in my small group and is athletic and funny and honest and lovable! So thankful to know you, sweet Maddie!

Taylor, Leah, Brittany and Jolie:

Jolie has become Leia's bestie! Anytime Jamie and I go out of town, Jolie is always there to stay with our pup and take care of her. Jolie is loving and trustworthy and faithful. I'm grateful she's in my life as well.

Ya'll, I have THE BEST Young Life college small group! These girls are dynamic and fun-loving and they love and care for each other so much. So grateful I get to do life with you girls!

All around fantastic month!

Happy Halloween from my family to your's!
