Labor Day Weekend in Houston

It should come as no surprise that I'm a little slow on updating you all on my life via the blog. Blogging is on the bottom chunk of my priorities as is your interest in my every day life, I'm sure.

Anyhoo, this past Labor Day my family headed to Houston to enjoy some family time together and celebrate the first OSU game! Woo hoo!!! Go Pokes!!

Lucy girl was loving the packing process:

Having a climbable suitcase in the living room was way too much fun for one baby to handle:

This pup was over it though:

Suitcases make her nervous. She knows that someone is going somewhere when the suitcase comes out, and she's never quite sure if she is included in our traveling plans. Oh Leia Lu, you are never forgotten, my dear!

By the way, my child has learned a new trick:

She eats her crib. Oh joy. Her precious little teeth marks are all around her crib and to be perfectly honest, it's pretty adorable and will make for a pretty sweet memory one day.

The weekend started off with some morning onesie time. Why does Lucy only get to wear the comfy onesies?

Then after our morning walks (Me, Leia and Lucy) and runs (Jamie), we had some family play time on the floor:

They love each other! So very much!

Friday morning, we headed to Houston for a fun-filled Ervin/Schoenthaler/Lobb weekend. We had plans to eat good food, hang out at Angela and Jon's house and go to the OSU game. I was soooo excited to see everyone and cheer on my cowboys! I hadn't been to an OSU game in several years, so I've deeply missed the excitement of being a part of the great sea of orange and waving my arm to the fight song...so great.

Friday evening, we all had dinner at Pappa's Steakhouse. Oh my goodness! So stinking yummy! The second we got to the restaurant, I got Lucy out of her carseat, and smelled something funky!!! I knew we had an "issue" and needed to take her to the potty asap. My mom asked if I needed help and I responded with an emphatic "YES!" We took her to the bathroom, and praise Jesus there was a changing table, because we needed it. My mom, Lucy and I squeezed into the tiny bathroom stall to change my child's diaper and clothes and we were giggling like hyenas!

A. I doubt any baby has actually used the changing table at Pappa's.

B. I doubt any baby has even been in Pappa's Steakhouse...not exactly baby friendly.

Besides the diaper mishap, it was an excellent dinner. The food was good. The conversation was lovely. Lucy did well. We saw a professional wrestler--Kevin Nash. He's huge. Wish I asked him to hold Lucy and get a picture, but didn't want to be that person.

Anyway. Great night!

Saturday morning, the fun began!

My cute family ready for the game:

Lucy was awake the whole entire game and was just enthralled with the crowd, the noise, the music, the movement...everything!

It wasn't until the very end of the game that she gave up the fight and fell asleep on auntie Angela:

Of course my dad protected her little head with his OSU hat:

Sweet sleepy baby:

Besides that, she was quite the spectacular Cowboy fan!

She yelled. She waved her hand. She wiggled. She was the perfect game day baby.

I had never been to a professional football stadium before, but I sure was thrilled that this one was air conditioned, because it was a hot tamale day in Houston that day!

We sat up in the club seats, so we have plenty of room and great food to eat inside when we needed a break from the noise during the game.

Look at that face:

She was mean muggin' when OSU wasn't exactly playing too stellar:

Not too sure about this hat on her head...

Sleepy angel:

Happy Baby!!

Love this picture of my favorites:

Uncle Jon, Auntie Angela and Lucy girl:

That's Lucy's Popeye face:

This man sure does love taking pictures:

Nana Lana loving on her Grandbaby:

Papa Steve and Nana Lana with Lucy:

I love that picture of my parents with my girl. She has no idea how blessed she is so be so ridiculously loved!!!

It was an excellent game and I had such a blast!!! Thank you, mama and daddy for the tickets! Always fun to see a Cowboy win!

Saturday evening we had some delicious Greek food. Yum. Houston has some truly delicious food!

Sunday morning, Lucy did some bird watching at the breakfast table:

Could that snail tushy be any cuter? Nope. I don't think so.

Jamie and I also took Lucy on a little swim before lunch:

Angela and Jon have a fabulous pool in their back yard and it was the perfect morning for a swim. Lucy likes the water, so we enjoyed relaxing in the pool for a bit.

For lunch, we had Dim Sum, and it was divine! I ate until I couldn't put another thing in my tummy and I loved every bite! Always a yummy Houston treat!

Jamie and I headed back to Lafayette around 2:00 ish, and Lucy cried pretty much the whole way home. It was dreadfully loud and cranky and ridiculous!!!

I mean look at this face:

She was entirely too exhausted from her hissy fit. Poor thing.

So, there's the update from Labor Day weekend...you know...just a month and a half late. Whatever.

Hope y'all are doing well. Love you guys dearly!
