Good morning from the Schoenthaler ladies!!! I hope y'all are having a happy Wednesday and plan on doing something fun or yummy or different or relaxing today. I plan on working and then catching up on last night's episode of Parenthood. I have to watch that show when I have no other plans for the rest of the day, because I typically ugly cry every other week.
This was actually taken the other night. I was up late, shrinking my brain, watching One Tree Hill, and this is how my little pooch'ms fell asleep:
She has NO idea how much her life will be rocked in about 4 months!
Does anyone else's dogs have their own, personal Eskimo Joe's cup to drink out of?
Our's does. Jamie used to let her drink out of his cup, and so we just started giving her her very own. Princess Peach.
I took this yesterday morning to send to Jamie while he's out of town, because I know he's missing his girls:
Lulu decided to graze me with a cheek kiss...how kind.
She also loves her some warm laundry, straight out of the dryer:
Have we raised a spoiled pup? Why yes. Yes we have.
Anyway, enough of that!
It's almost a given that any time someone asks me if I'm pregnant, they almost always ask when I'm due. After I answer that, then they ask if it's a boy or a girl. When I answer that question, I'm asked if we've chosen a name yet.
"Yes! I'm pregnant! We're so excited!'
"I'm due February 18th. Half way there!"
"We're having a baby girl!"
And this is how I answer the last question...
"We're actually not choosing a name until we see her."
That answer usually comes with several reactions. Some people think I'm a loony. Some people instantly give me a list of names to choose from. Some think it's a great idea. Others did that themselves. And so on and so forth.
Here's why we're not choosing a name until we see our little girl:
- She may not look like the name we chose. My mom and dad changed my name after they saw me. I was supposed to be an Allison. Crazy, huh? I'm totally an Abby!
- Heaven forbid people don't like the name we choose, I don't want to get negative reactions when we tell them the name. But after we have the baby, it's hard NOT to love the name when you're seeing such sweetness!
- We like surprises!
We have a couple names picked out, but they're our little secret!
Funny story:
About a year ago, before baby Scho was even in our thoughts, our FedEx guy had me sign for something at the store, and he asked me what my last name was. I said, "Schoenthaler". (Keep in mind our FedEx guy resembles Chris Rock) And this was how our conversation went...
- Man: Show-a-WHAT?!?!
- Me: Show-in-thaw-ler.
- Man: You got kids?
- Me: Nope, not yet.
- Man: Well, whenever you get some kids, you betta name them like Joe, and Bob and Mary! Can't name them nothin' too crazy, know what I mean?!
I have laughed about that conversation a lot since then, because it's so true. Although baby Scho's name will not be Mary, I can tell you this--her name will not be anything weird or complicated or crazy. It also won't be a "B" name. Don't want my baby's initials to be "BS".
She won't be Mary Schoenthaler. Betsy Schoenthaler. Or Laquita Schoenthaler.
So there you have it, folks. Baby Scho does not have a name yet, but she will have one when she's born and it will be precious just like her :)
Any name ideas? I'll hear you out!
Love you all!

Love it! You always make me laugh! Just fyi, Preslie was 3 days old before she had a name. :) I can't wait to hear what you all choose for your girl!
ReplyDeleteNo judging here, I think it's a great idea! I don't have any girl name ideas at all! We already have a few boy names we love and no girl names! So watch me have a girl! Oh, and your last name could always be worse! I'm with ya on that, sister! lol You look so so cute, Abby!
ReplyDeleteYou are hilarious! Let's hang out! I like Avery, Reese, Riley, tatum, Presley, if I ever got knocked up again I would want one of these names, but I think we are done baby front! I Think you are smart to not tell people the name, I had someone super close tell me how much they hated the name Madelyn. Maddy. I cried for like a week and I named her that anyway and I wonder sometimes if this person still hates my daughters name!! Hmmmm?! She is so a Maddy!
ReplyDeletePoor Preslie was nameless for a few days...love that name though! It fits her sweet personality :) Thank you so much, Brittany! I'm ready for some baby Brittanys for you guys! You're going to have the cutest minis! Katie, who in the world would tell you they don't like the name Madelyn!?!? Who DOES that?! Maddy is SO a Maddy! Fits her perfectly!
