I want my body back body back body back...

Hopefully you read that title singing the Chili's "I want my baby back ribs" song.

But yes, I would like my body back. My pre-baby body back. Granted, I had a lot of work to do on this bod pre-Lucy, but now I've REALLY got some work to do. After Lucy was born, I was diagnosed with Dunlaps Disease. It's when my fat done laps over my pants. Unattractive. And my illness of blubber butt has only gotten worse. My saddlebag syndrome is at an all time high as well. I need to be healed!

I will say that losing the weight was not hard after Lucy was born (please don't give me dirty looks through your computer), because I worked REALLY hard at not gaining a million pounds while pregnant. Also, I've been breastfeeding and at the beginning, this child ate around the clock! We're talking every hour. No time to brush my teeth in the morning, much less eat! Bottom line...I need to get toned, in shape, and feeling confident again.

I used to walk a 14 minute mile, and I'm walking around an 18 minute mile now. Right after Lucy was born, I was walking a 22 minute mile. Lucy's bowels were moving faster than that!

I tried doing girl push-ups the other day, and I almost cried after 10.

I'm trying to run--Lord help me...I'm trying to run. It's ugly. Really flippin' ugly.

Little exercises that I can do at home (ie: lunges, squats, crunches, leg lifts, etc) are really hard!

My strength is gone, and I want it back. I need it back.

So, I am getting serious about getting my body back in even better shape than it's ever been in before. I need to cut the crap (as in crappy food) and get my tushy in gear.

This is me today after a long wog (walk + jog) and 20 minutes of yoga:

Don't let the smile fool you. I'm dying.

Here are my weapons of choice in getting back in shape since I can't go to the gym anymore...

1. Reebok running shoes:

I got these for Christmas and I love them. I like them a lot, but they do not give a lot of support. They're great for cross training on the elliptical or bike, but maybe not walking/jogging many miles. I did my research on these shoes and everything, and I even picked them out, but I foresee a new pair of tennies in my near future that will give me a little more foot support. But a simple pair of workout shoes is all I need to hit the pavement.

2. Online yoga classes:

Yogaglo is a website a friend of mine told me about the other day. You pay $18 a month and can do as many yoga classes as you want. I signed up for a 15 day trial, and I've done it for 2 days already. It's fabulous. Last night, I did it after Lucy went to bed, and I just finished another 20 minutes while she napped. You can choose how long you want to exercise and what kind of class you'd like to try. So far so good!

3. My jogging stroller:

This thing is awesome. I love walking and will hopefully learn to love jogging with it. If I didn't have this, I'd be in a world of hurt with getting back in shape. Lucy loves napping while strolling, and I love walking. It's a win win combination!

4. Playing with this little goober:

Last night, Lucy and I did a little flying angel, and I'm always picking her up, bouncing her, rocking her, basically doing baby aerobics. Just hanging out with her is a workout!

As I've mentioned before, I'm not looking at the numbers on the scale. My weight doesn't matter to me. It's how I feel. And I feel great now, but I know I can feel even greater if I get in better shape. I'm excited to start a healthy new me. Not only for me, but for Lucy and Jamie as well. They need to have a healthy wife and mommy in their lives, and I owe that much to them.

But for now, it's bed time. Lucy's out. Jamie's out. Leia's out. Why am I up? Goodnight, my dears. Sleep tight!

Love you guys!
